Baba Farid



Baba Farid was a 12th century Sufi preacher and saint of Punjab. He is recognised as the first acclaimed poet of the Punjabi language.

Also known as Sheikh Farid, a number of his verses were included by Guru Nanak in the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book of the Sikhs.

Baba Farid is revered by Southasia's Muslims and Sikhs alike.

Bhai Ravinder Singh the Ragi from the Golden Temple, Amritsar, sings Farida Dariya Ve Kanne Bagula.
