Ravidas

Ravidas, who lived in the 15th century, was one of the great poet-saints of north India. He lived in Benares. His teachings are prominently included in the Sikh Holy Book, Guru Granth Sahib. Hymns of Ravidas are regularly sung in the Sikh gurudwaras.

Here is the keertan, Ravidas Japei Ram Nama, sung by Bhai Harjinder Singh of Srinagar.

Ravidas chants Ram's name, not for me earthly pleasures.
