Giridhara Gopala



Meerabai was a 16th century saint in Rajasthan, India, and an important figure in the Bhakti movement of India She poured out her heart in songs of love for her Lord Krishna, whom she referred to in many names.

Here is a video clip from the film Meera of the incomparable, divine-voiced MS Subbulakshmi singing one of Meerabai’s songs, adoring the infant Krishna, or Gopala.

I found Rajahstan interesting when I was on holiday there. Especially the old palaces where you can still see the actual murals.

400+ years later and the words of love have not changed...Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder. However very few can express their love in words or song.
