The Opening

This is the first chapter of the Holy Koran, the Surah Al-Fatiha, which means "The Opening".

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
الحمد لله رب العالمين
الرحمن الرحيم
ملك يوم الدين
اياك نعبد واياك نستعين
اهدنا الصرط المستقيم
صراط الذين انعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين

آمين

Bismillah ar Rahman ar Rahim!

Al Hamdu lil Laahe Rabbil Aalameen
Ar Rahmaan ar Rahim
Maaliki yaum id din
Ya quanah budo
Wahiya khanastaiin
Ih dinah as siraat al mustaquiim
Siraat al lazina
An amteh ilaihiim gaiiril madhdubi
Al aiihim waladdu aaleen

Aameen!


Here's the English translation of the original Arabic:

In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful!

All praise belongs to God alone
Lord of all worlds,
The Compassionate, the Merciful,
Ruler of the Day of Judgement.
It is You that we worship
And to You we appeal for help.
Show us the straight way,
The way of those You have graced,
Not of those on whom is Your wrath,
Nor of those who wander astray.
